The Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission is seeking a Director of Finance & Administration to manage the Commission’s financial and administrative operations. This position reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for budgeting, accounting, audits, payroll, benefits administration, grant compliance, and financial reporting for the Commission and its programs.
The successful candidate will have strong governmental accounting experience, excellent analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with local, state, and federal partners. Knowledge of Virginia local government finance is preferred.
There is no formal minimum education requirement; however, candidates without uniquely specific experience should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of governmental accounting experience.
Salary: Minimum starting salary of $85,000, commensurate with experience (DOE).
Work Environment: Hybrid (remote/in-office flexibility as job duties and proficiency allow)
